Climate in Ireland
Ireland’s weather is as lively and unpredictable as its people! You might dance in the rain, feel the wind on your face, and still catch a glimpse of sunshine—all in a single day.
The Irish climate is mild, moist, and changeable, with plenty of rainfall and very few temperature extremes. Thanks to the warm Gulf Stream, Ireland stays much milder than other countries at the same latitude, and its coastlines remain ice-free even in winter.
Winter temperatures range from 5°C to 8°C (40°F to 46°F), while summer temperatures usually stay between 15°C and 20°C (60°F to 70°F).
Rain is frequent—it’s part of what keeps Ireland so beautifully green! So, be sure to pack a raincoat and a cozy jumper for your stay.
